Graffiti Montpelier Park Bristol

Graffiti Montpelier Park Bristol

not legal but tolerated. two primed brick walls at the rear of the park suitable for 2 or 3 pieces and characters. various small stone walls for silver pieces or throwups

There is now only one wall, the other is fenced off behind a steel 'three prong' fence. Still suitable for 2/3 people. Also the situation of trains (not) running on Sundays, as detailed in the comment below, has changed: there is now an hourly service to/from Temple Meads running between approximately 10am and 5pm.

Welcome to Stokes Croft Bristol

Welcome to Stokes Croft Bristol

Stokes Croft

Popular with students, the Stokes Croft area of Bristol is bursting with colour, with some of the most famous outdoor murals to be found in this location. Think Cosmo Sarson’s epic Jesus BreakDance, and, of course, Banksy’s Mild Mild West. Also don’t miss taking a peep at works by Aspire, Stinkfish, Cheba and Phlegm all lining the colourful and vibrant Stoke Croft area.

Take The Money And Run, Bristol
Take the Money and Run is one of Banksy’s earliest and longest surviving works in Bristol. This wall piece was painted collaboratively with two other street artists, Inky and Mobz.

The mural depicts the silhouettes of three thieves against a colorful backdrop. Back in the day, Banksy painted freehand rather than used stencils and the influence of graffiti on his art was still strong, which is evident in the abstract mix of swirling colors and the style of lettering.

It’s a famous painting by inkie mode2 and mr banksy

Mild Mild West
Banksy art location: Intersection of Stokes Croft and Jamaica Street, Bristol BS1 3QY

At the heart of Stokes Croft, one of the most famed Banksy graffiti Mild Mild West is painted on the building next to Hamilton House, a community centre hosting artist studios and exhibits. Depicting a street riot that actually happened in Stokes Croft, Mild Mild West is one of Banksy’s earlier artworks.

Banksy graffiti in Bristol. The Mild Mild West Banksy original was painted in response to riot police attacking partygoers at unlicensed raves in the 90s. A teddy bear is armed with a Molotov cocktail aimed at riot police.

Urban Bay graffiti street art Bristol

Urban Bay graffiti street art Bristol

I have known about this piece for a while, but just never knew where it was. To my huge excitement and fulfilment I found it recently, while looking for another piece nearby. This is by one of my favourite street artists, Aspire, who is better known for his amazing birds

I don’t know who the subject of the piece is, but I would guess a prominent local musician or blues artist perhaps. It seems slightly peculiar seeing work by Aspire that is not a bird, but I consider it to be equally good, and I would like to see more of it

The piece has been here for a while and is slightly worse for wear, but it has persisted and survived untagged…often the mark of a respected artist

A little while back I was contacted by Paul H, who told me to get myself down to City Road, where there was a RAW paint jam going on. I happened to be passing that way, returning home from another spot, and was very pleased that I did, as there was a bit of a street party atmosphere going on.

Food, music and a host of street artists. There was nothing not to like. The colour scheme adopted by all the artists had a kind of summer holiday theme, with lots of pink sunset stuff going on. This piece by Jaksta was one of the highlights, especially as I haven’t seen any of his work for quite a long time. Some of you might recognise the subject of the piece as Snoopdogg, and I find it amazing that Jaksta can create these slightly grotesque carton portraits with spray cans. A rare talent that he executes so well
