Identity Mystery Woman Northern Quarter

Mural by artist Akse in the Northern Quarter

The stunning work from renowned graffiti artist Akse appeared on a wall near the NCP car park on Thomas Street over the weekend prompting plenty of admiration.

But no one seemed certain on the woman's identity, with guesses ranging from Spice Girl Mel C to TV presenter Christine Lampard.

Now it has emerged that the portrait is of Nicola Mendelsohn, a Manchester businesswoman who went on to become one of the most senior bosses at Facebook.

Sadly, Nicola is battling an incurable form of cancer at just 48-years-old.

She commissioned the mural in the Northern Quarter to announce the launch of a new charity, the Follicular Lymphoma Foundation with the aim of finding a cure for the disease.

This blog started out as Graffiti street art collector however the name as evolved over time to Techni Tou Dromou meaning Art of the Road.

Collecting street art murals and graffiti was a small hobby of mine which began in 2017 over time I collected that many pictures that I thought I would upload them to this blog.

One day I was working on my other website I was looking up the meaning of a Greek word in Strong's concordance so I decided to look up the words for art and street in Strong's concordance and thayer's greek lexicon

The Greek word for art is τέχνη, ης, ἡ (Strong's concordance 5078. techné)

This is where I came up with the idea to change the name of the blog from Graffiti street art collector to Techni Tou Dromou

Techni Tou Dromou can just mean street art but the true translation is Art of the Road 

I am a photographer and videographer of Graffiti Murals and street art
