graffiti jarmain textile mill in Dalton Huddersfield

graffiti jarmain textile mill in Dalton Huddersfield

former Jarmain's Mill site on Crossley Lane, Dalton.

The site, which was first put to industrial use in 1893, was home to the Jarmain textile mill for many years and was later part of the Hartley Group, owned by Alan Lewis, who also owns Globe Mills in Slaithwaite.

Made in Manchester street art mural

Finally managed to finish this Manchester themed mural today. It's not been easy climbing ladders etc with a blown up leg but like a trooper I stuck at it and sat down drinking pint after pint of free beer thanks to the thirsty scholar who commissioned this😅😅🎻🎻🎻

Every aspect of this has a connection to Manchester, from the link to #cosgrovehall who made #countduckula, the splitting of the atom, the fight for workers rights etc. Manchester has a lot to answer for.

There's too many things I could have put on this but I chose to keep it simple and make it different to all the other Manchester murals by hopefully giving it and abstract and random look adding things that people might not always associate with this city. Such as the vimto bottle which is actually taken from the statue in the university grounds just round the corner, originally made in old Trafford.

I wanted to add more to this but time is as usual against
