Bring The Paint 2019 Following the success of Alex’s Soundhouse wall during Bring The Paint 2017 2019 brought new challenges for the master of tessellation. Given a complex wall to paint with the various depths and layers most artists might steer clear of repetitive tessellation. Instead Alex Rubes created this striking Art Deco themed pattern to revitalise a tired looking wall with complete style.

**TASSO – Midland Street, Leicester (Bring The Paint 2019)**

In the lively streets of Leicester, **TASSO**, the celebrated graffiti pioneer and founding figure of the legendary **MACLAIM crew**, brought his unmistakable style to life during the *Bring The Paint 2019* street art festival on **Midland Street**. As part of Leicester’s international festival — a city‑wide celebration where some of the world’s most respected street artists transformed the urban landscape — TASSO tackled a pair of large double garage doors with a design that fuses classic graffiti energy with imaginative character work. 

Rather than subtle or restrained, the piece delivers a bold visual punch: a **fiery can‑wielding hooded figure**, emblematic of TASSO’s fusion of figurative presence and dynamic street style, dominates the shutters, spraying life into the otherwise industrial surface. This imagery bridges TASSO’s deep roots in the graffiti scene with the creative freedom that the festival fosters. 

Adding to the collaborative spirit of the artwork, **SOME NHS**, a Birmingham‑based artist known locally for his vibrant handstyles, contributed the *Bring The Paint* tag on the paint cans, rounding out the piece with a playful nod to the event itself and linking the mural to the broader festival narrative. 

Situated on Midland Street — already one of the hotspots for street art during the 2019 festival — TASSO’s mural sits among works by other respected artists, creating a corridor of colour and creativity that energised the city centre. The artwork not only highlights TASSO’s ongoing influence in graffiti culture but also exemplifies how Leicester’s Bring The Paint festival has helped elevate legal street art into a vibrant, community‑engaged public gallery that invites people to explore and enjoy urban creativity across the city.
