A number of underpass tunnels, a central open air space and large walls alongside either steps or ramps this site is extensive. St Margarets Underpass comprises of brick, pebble dashed and tiled walls so it’s perfect whatever your surface preference. A very central location with ramp access this is right by St Margarets Bus station itself. Short Street and the Soar Lane hoardings are both nearby hoarded sites. STREET ART BY VOYDER ATHENA CAR PARK

VOYDER
ATHENA CAR PARK, QUEEN STREET, LEICESTER, LE1 1QD

#bringthepaint

Bring The Paint 2017 The now London based artist VOYDER painted the portrait of a local artist above a backdrop of a city centre car park with a glowing cracked letter tag style piece below. The text on the painted car park is a reference to a classic train graffiti piece by SKEME3 stating ‘all you see is crime in the city’. This text was painted by anonymous artists across the disused car park site depicted as a piece paying homage to the original train piece on an earlier occasion. VOYDER saw this artwork and wanted to incorporate it into his own work. In it’s own way this painting showcases all aspects of graffiti and street art in a clever and layered way.

Rotterdam based artist KINOS has a huge passion for typography. This artwork is a great example of his celebration of type and its abstraction. His artwork focuses on a visual overill of distorted type to create a metaphor for the overwhelming amount of information we have to process on a daily basis through various media. For this particular wall KINOS researched historical names of Leicester and printed them out in various typefaces. These printouts were then cut up to create a physical collage which then went on to become the basis for this wall.
